We are fully committed to promoting good sustainability practice, to reduce the environmental impacts of our activities and to assist and encourage our clients and partners to do the same.
We’re busy with a whole range of measures to reduce our environmental impact.
We are passionate about preserving the environment through effective waste management and recycling schemes across the site. We ensure the maximum amount of material is sent for recycling and converted back into usable products and the remaining waste is converted into energy. We have comprehensive recycling schemes across the studio and our own recycling centre on site where we separate a wide range of materials including paper, wood, metal, green waste and food waste. We provide all staff with stainless steel reusable water bottles and encourage our community to reduce single-use plastics.
We care about the impact we have on the environment and strive to reduce our Co2 emissions by increasing our sustainable electrical energy solutions, promoting the use of public transport and electric vehicles with multiple EV charging points on-site and running a cycle to work scheme for employees. 100% of electricity used on site is sourced from a renewable supplier, our buildings are certified as good or very good by BREEAM (the sustainability assessment method) and we design all new buildings for maximum efficiency to save energy and water.
We’re actively improving our green spaces in and around the Studio, not only to improve ecology and biodiversity, but also to create spaces that the whole community can enjoy. In the past 18 months we have planted over 300 trees on site, planted new hedgerows and sown over 30,000 sq.ft of wildflower seed to attract pollinators and support our local ecosystem. We are also home to our very own protected wildlife area and take care to preserve the natural habitat surrounding the studio so it can be enjoyed by generations for years to come.
We are also a proud partner of the BAFTA albert Studio Sustainability Standard which helps studios measure and reduce the environmental impact of their facilities. We will submit data annually for assessment, which will help us to build up a holistic picture of our environmental impact and allow us to make a targeted business decisions that can have a positive impact on our facility, our carbon footprint and the wider environment. In additional, we will also receive a grade which will allow us to benchmark our own progress an compare to other studio facilities across the globe.
