Warner Bros. Studios Leavesden is fully committed to promoting good sustainability practice, to reduce the environmental impacts of all our activities and to assist and encourage our clients and partners to do the same.
We are passionate about preserving the environment through effective waste management and recycling schemes across the site. We ensure the maximum amount of material is sent for recycling and are proud to say we are a zero-landfill site.
Over 65% of our total site waste is recycled and converted back into usable products and the remaining waste is converted into energy. We have comprehensive recycling schemes across the studio and our own recycling center on site where we separate a wide range of materials including paper, wood, metal, green waste and food waste. We provide all staff with stainless steel reusable water bottles to encourage our community to reduce single-use plastics.
We care about the impact we have on the environment and strive to reduce our Co2 emissions by promoting the use of public transport, use of electric vehicles with multiple EV charging points on-site and running a cycle to work scheme for employees. Over 77% of electricity used on site is sourced from a renewable supplier, our buildings are certified as good or very good by BREEAM (the sustainability assessment method) and we design all new buildings for maximum efficiency to save energy and water.
We are also home to our very own protected wildlife area and take care to preserve the natural habitat surrounding the studio so it can be enjoyed by generations for years to come.
