Steve McQueen’s latest directorial endeavour ‘Blitz’ is out now in selected cinemas across the UK and will be streaming on Apple TV + from the 22nd November. This production recreated the harrowing scenes of London during World War II, utilising four of our sound stages and the studio backlot.

The brilliant costumes worn by the main cast members Elliott Heffernan and Saoirse Ronan, as designed by Oscar-winning costume designer Jacqueline Durran, are currently being displayed in The Barbican in their ‘The Costumes of Blitz’ exhibition. The exhibition will run until Friday 22nd November and is free to enter.

The story follows nine-year-old George (Elliott Heffernan) as he is evacuated to the countryside by his mother, Rita (Saorise Ronan), to escape the bombings. Defiant and determined to return to his family, George embarks on a journey back home as Rita searches for him.
