Aquaman & The Lost Kingdom – Made at WBSL

Aquaman and The Lost Kingdom, the sequel to 2018’s Aquaman is out now in cinemas across the UK. With James Wan directing and co-producing alongside Peter Safran and Rob Cowan, the production returned to us here at Warner Bros. Studios Leavesden, bringing the underwater city of Atlantis to life across 5 of our stages, our external tank and the studios backlot.

Production designer Bill Brzeski also returned for this instalment to the franchise, having worked on Jumanji: The Next Level and 2021’s Thunder Force in the interim, with costume designer Richard Sale taking the reins from Kym Barrett.

“The Lost Kingdom has a very retro, ‘60s horror look… We have this huge action set-piece where Arthur and Orm fight [Black Manta’s] henchmen, using the ‘Octobot’ – this mechanical squid thing. That was really fun to shoot.” James Wan, Director of Aquaman and The Lost Kingdom (Empire Online – Original Article)

Warner Bros. Set Lighting and Rigging supported the lighting team with impressive lighting sets for all shooting on-site and for the location shoots at Sauton Sands and Piccadilly. Huge congratulations to the entire cast and crew across all departments who worked so hard to bring this production to life. We are super proud to have been home to some iconic DC Productions such as The Flash, Justice League and Wonder Woman to name a few.
