Warner Bros. Studios Leavesden Hosts DCMS Visit

Secretary of State for Department of Culture, Media and Sport Oliver Dowden visited Warner Bros. Studios Leavesden to celebrate the announcement of a new Global Screen Fund.

He was given a tour of the stages and visited a backlot set and the art department for a major production currently filming on the lot, as well as hearing from Senior Vice President of Studio Operations Emily Stillman, Managing Director of Warner Bros. Productions Kevin Trehy and Senior Vice President of Business Affairs and International Development David Bisoni. He was joined by local MP Dean Russell.

The visit was to mark the announcement of the new Global Screen Fund, a £7 million fund to support independent film and screen content made in every corner of the UK to export to markets around the world. Developed in partnership with the British Film Institute (BFI), the fund will support the UK independent screen sector to export their productions to markets around the world, helping them to compete globally and bringing further recognition to the world-renowned British film industry.
