The juice is loose. 36 years after the release of the classic horror comedy Beetlejuice, Tim Burton has returned to the franchise with Beetlejuice Beetlejuice, which is out now in cinemas across the UK. Producers of the film include Tim Burton, Pete Chiappetta, Sara Desmond, Katterli Frauenfelder, Dede Gardner, Alfred Gough, Seth Grahame-Smith, Tommy Harper, David Katzenberg, Jeremy Kleiner, Andrew Lary, Miles Millar, Brad Pitt, Laurence Senelick, Natalie Testa, Anthony Tittanegro, Marc Toberoff and Larry Wilson.
We were privileged to be home to this production, which brought the fictional town of Winter River, Connecticut and the afterlife to life across five of our stages and the studios backlot.
Costume designer Colleen Atwood and the entire makeup department worked together tirelessly to pay homage to the original, whilst portraying the journey that the characters have been on since in the 30 years since.
With Michael Keaton, Winona Ryder and Catherine O’Hara all reprising their roles as Beetlejuice, Lydia Deetz and Delia Deetz, the plot follows three generations of the Deetz family as they return home to Winter River after an unexpected family tragedy. Still haunted by Beetlejuice, Lydia’s life soon gets turned upside down when her rebellious teenage daughter (Jenna Ortega) discovers a mysterious portal to the afterlife.
